Another loss in the showbiz/music industry.

Just this 1:30 PM, Pjay sent me a link from Inquirer.net about the death of Filipino rap icon Francis Magalona. He died from a multiple organ failure due to his acute myelogenous leukemia at 12:20.

I admit I don’t like hiphop/rap that much. But this guy, the man they called “Master Rapper”, “The Man from Manila” bridged the gap between pinoy rock and hiphop by collaborating with rock icons Eraserheads, Parokya ni Edgar, and Greyhoundz.

Who would forget his signature song “Mga Kababayan Ko”? The song doesnt only proposed nationalism but also boosts every Filipino’s self-esteem.

FrancisM was supposed to perform with the Eraserheads tomorrow during the band’s The FInal Set reunion concert.

His memory will remain in every Filipino’s heart and mind. Farewell Man from Manila, farewell Master Rapper, farewell Francis Magalona.
